BALLET4LYFE
-
Ballet4Lyfe is a 90-minute reimagined ballet class for local movers in Los Angeles that emphasizes on inclusivity, somatic approach, and through a modern lens.
-
The Beginner Adult Classes provide a safe space to learn something new or rekindle a spark for dance that might have been lost in earlier years. B4L gives people of all backgrounds to reconnect with a mode of movement that isn’t found in traditional ballet classes or typical workout routines
-
If you are someone who thinks they don’t belong in a ballet class, who thinks they’re time has passed to try something new, or who thinks that ballet isn’t for you - think again. These classes are designed to encourage a joy for movement, to challenge the body for strength and flow (NOT for aesthetics), and develop a supportive community of movers. These classes are 4 You.

Class Structure
-
We will come together as a class to introduce ourselves to each other and take a moment to physically and mentally enter the space.
-
We will work on some technique and progressions to strengthen, stretch, and prepare the body for center work.
-
After a short break, we will take ourselves into the center to combine technical concepts into more full body movement and flow.
-
We will thank each other and ourselves for a well done class and take a second to mingle and ask questions as we exit the space.

I recommend taking the Beginner 1 class as your first intro to B4L to get a sense of your current level and then go from there. I will not dictate which class is best for you unless I see habits forming that could be dangerous for your body or cause injury. Modifications can be made if the teacher is notified prior to class.
-
Of course! The class may operate at a slower pace than an advanced class, but there will still be lots of fundamental material to be worked on. I will invite pro dancers to take the class as they need to, as well as act as an inspiring example for beginner students to be around.
